Where Snoop Dogg OG Comes From
Snoop Dogg OG takes its name from the rapper, one of cannabis culture’s best-known figures, but it appears to have been named in his honor rather than bred by him. Leafly says only that it is said to contain Lemon OG and Sour Diesel genetics, and AllBud lists the same cross. Other strain guides simply place it in the broader OG Kush family and note that the breeder and release date are debated.
SeedFinder lists a Snoop Dogg OG seed release under Dog Pound Genetics, but we could not confirm that it is the same plant sold under this name in dispensaries. Treat the lineage as reported, not settled. It is also a different strain from Snoop’s Dream and from the various Snoop-branded products sold through his own companies.
Snoop Dogg OG Effects: What It Feels Like
Reports describe an early wave of euphoric, creative energy that gradually narrows into calm focus, mild couch-lock and a serious case of the munchies. Leafly users most often list relaxed, tingly and sleepy, and the overall effect is mostly calming.
Potency figures vary widely. AllBud cites 22% to 28% THC on average, a seed listing estimates 17% to 22%, and individual reviewers mention batches testing near 30%. Because the number depends heavily on who grew it, check the label and start with a small amount.
Snoop Dogg OG Terpenes, Aroma and Flavor
The aroma is classic OG: diesel fuel up front, with lemon and pine underneath. Leafly notes the diesel tends to dominate the lemon, and it is often compared to OG Kush in both smell and dense, spade-shaped bud structure. The exhale carries citrus and a light spice. Neither Leafly nor AllBud publishes a terpene profile for it.
Side Effects and How to Use Snoop Dogg OG
Users most often mention dizziness, dry mouth and dry eyes. Some reviewers also find it strongly sleep-inducing, so plan accordingly.

Do People Use Snoop Dogg OG for Medical Reasons?
Leafly reviewers most often mention reaching for Snoop Dogg OG for pain, anxiety and stress, and its appetite boost comes up often in reviews.
