About Alternative Solutions

Alternative Solutions sits on a busy stretch of SE Powell Boulevard near SE 136th Avenue in Powellhurst-Gilbert, in outer Southeast Portland about 2 miles east of Mall 205. It is a car-friendly stop with its own lot, which reviewers say makes it easy in and easy out, and it is one of several dispensaries within half a mile here, including Deanz Greenz and The Green Remedy.

The shop is the sister store to Alternative Remedies on SE Flavel. Its Google profile describes it as an urban dispensary with a large selection of flower, edibles and concentrates, and Google's review summary flags daily deals and top-shelf flower; one regular from Corbett says it is worth the drive. Long-time customers also mention the shop's dogs.

Google lists opening hours of 7 a.m. to 9:55 p.m. every day, but several 2026 reviewers say they found the doors locked well after 7 a.m., so call (503) 761-1635 before an early visit. Unlike its sister store, Alternative Solutions is a recreational-only shop without a medical endorsement.

What Customers Say About Alternative Solutions

4.2 out of 5 from 199 Google reviews · read the reviews on Google

Alternative Solutions averages 4.2 stars from 199 Google reviews, and opinion is split. Its fans praise fresh, sticky flower, fair prices, friendly long-serving staff who remember regulars, and the convenience of the parking lot.

The negative reviews are recent and specific: shoppers who arrived for the advertised 7 a.m. opening found it closed, and others describe disinterested or rude service and, in one case, an ounce with too many stems for the price. Check the bud before you pay and phone ahead if you are planning a morning stop.

This summary is written by The Weed Street Journal from a sample of public Google reviews. It is not a paid endorsement.
