Dispensaries in St. Louis

St. Louis has 23 dispensaries licensed by the Missouri Division of Cannabis Regulation (DCR). Shoppers must be 21 or older and show a valid photo ID, and out-of-state visitors buy on the same terms as Missourians. All 23 stores also fill orders for registered medical patients. One thing to know before you look at a map: our St. Louis list follows mailing addresses, so it mixes stores inside the City of St. Louis with stores out in St. Louis County that simply have a St. Louis mailing address.

The city and county split matters more here than anywhere else in Missouri, because it decides which local tax lands on your receipt. It also explains the shape of the market: a tight cluster of shops in South City and the Central West End, then a second ring out along Lindbergh Boulevard, Watson Road and Telegraph Road in South County.

St. Louis and Missouri Cannabis Laws: Purchase Limits, Public Use and Driving

The per-transaction limit is 3 ounces of dried marijuana or its equivalent, and adults may carry up to 3 ounces. Lighting up in a public place, from Forest Park to the Arch grounds, can bring a civil penalty of up to $100; note that the Gateway Arch is a national park, which is federal land where cannabis is illegal outright. Impaired driving is illegal, and for adults a conviction must rest on actual impairment, not THC in the blood alone.

Illinois is a legal state, but driving a Missouri purchase across the Poplar Street or Eads Bridge is still crossing a state line with cannabis, which is illegal. The TSA at St. Louis Lambert refers cannabis found at screening to police. Full details are in our guide to Missouri marijuana laws.

Cannabis Taxes in St. Louis

Every adult-use sale carries Missouri's 6% state tax plus the regular sales tax. The local cannabis tax depends on where the store actually sits. Inside the City of St. Louis, the Missouri Department of Revenue's October to December 2026 rate table lists a 3% local adult-use marijuana tax, which city voters approved in April 2023. St. Louis County voters approved their own 3% the same month, but since the Missouri Supreme Court's July 2025 ruling the county may charge it only in unincorporated areas, and a store inside a municipality charges that city's tax instead, if it has one. Your receipt shows exactly which applies. Medical purchases are taxed at 4%.

How we build this list: Every store here holds a dispensary license from the Missouri Division of Cannabis Regulation, and we take names, addresses and license numbers from the DCR's licensee list. Google Maps supplies the public ratings, review counts and hours. The list is refreshed monthly, and stores whose licenses end are removed.
