About Local Amsterdam

Local Amsterdam is a small, independent shop on 15th Avenue West at West Dravus Street in Interbay, the valley between Queen Anne and Magnolia. Google lists it as Local Amsterdam Cannabis – Queen Anne/Magnolia, and regulars from both neighborhoods treat it as their local. The business says it has been trusted since 2014 and also runs a store in Longview.

It is a no-frills place — "no bells and whistles, just cannabis," as one regular puts it — but it has character. Hand-drawn posters on the walls mix humor with cannabis education, and staff write trivia and jokes on a whiteboard. The selection is curated from Washington I-502 producers, with flower from established and emerging craft growers, edibles and vapes, and there are deals of the week. Online ordering is available.

Note the hours: Local Amsterdam opens at 8:15 a.m. but closes at 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 p.m. on Sunday, earlier than most Seattle shops. It is recreational only, with a wheelchair-accessible entrance.

Local Amsterdam holds a 4.8-star average from nearly 200 Google reviews, one of the highest ratings in the city. Customers call it the best neighborhood spot around, praising warm, knowledgeable staff who remember regulars by name, good prices and more selection than you would expect from such a small space. A reviewer recommends the teriyaki place next door.

A couple of reviews describe an unfriendly encounter with a budtender, but they are the exception. Because the shop is small, ordering ahead can save time.
