West Mesa has some of the most reviewed shops in Arizona, east Mesa has stores on Power Road, Higley Road and the Apache Trail, and the southeast corner near Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport has a cluster of its own. Two stores here carry other towns' names, Tempe and Queen Creek, but have Mesa addresses.

Mesa and Arizona Cannabis Laws: Purchase Limits, Public Use and Driving

Arizona caps every adult-use sale at an ounce, including no more than 5 grams of concentrate, and an adult may possess that much. Carrying between 1 and 2.5 ounces is a petty offense. Using cannabis in public is a petty offense as well, and that covers Usery Mountain Regional Park and the canal paths. Tubing the Salt River means federal ground, since the river runs through Tonto National Forest, where cannabis is illegal. Never consume in a moving vehicle, and do not drive impaired. Details are in our Arizona marijuana laws guide.

Cannabis Taxes in Mesa

With the 6.3% state and Maricopa County rate and Arizona's 16% excise tax, an adult-use purchase carries 24.3% in tax. Patients pay only the 8.3% transaction privilege tax.
