Dispensaries in Boynton Beach

Boynton Beach has 10 dispensaries licensed by the Florida Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU). Only qualified patients with an active Florida registry card, and their registered caregivers, can buy; Florida has no recreational sales and accepts no other state's card. In a city with many retirees, the caregiver route matters: an adult child or a close friend can register to pick up a patient's order.

Boynton Beach commissioners moved to allow dispensaries after a split vote, WPTV reported, rather than taking the ban some Palm Beach County towns chose. Today the city has stores on both sides of I-95: four close to the Intracoastal in the 33435 ZIP, and six inland along Congress Avenue, Woolbright Road and W Boynton Beach Boulevard, near the large residential communities west of the interstate. Eight companies run them; Green Dragon and Trulieve have two stores each.

Visiting a Dispensary in Boynton Beach: ID, Payment and Hours

Hand over your registry ID card and a photo ID at the counter. A caregiver shows their own caregiver card. The store confirms in the state registry that the card is active and that the order fits the physician's certification. Payment practices differ by company; if you prefer plastic, ask first, since credit cards are uncommon. Florida law keeps store counters closed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Shopping for Someone Else: Caregivers in Boynton Beach

A caregiver can buy and carry medical marijuana for a registered patient, within that patient's limits. Under section 381.986 a caregiver must:

  • be 21 or older and a Florida resident;
  • complete the state's caregiver course (it may cost up to $100 and is renewed every two years);
  • pass a background screening, unless a close relative of the patient;
  • generally serve only one patient, with exceptions such as hospice; and
  • not be paid beyond expenses, and carry the caregiver ID card whenever holding the patient's marijuana.

Seasonal residents can qualify as patients with two proofs of a Florida address. Caregivers, though, must be Florida residents.

Boynton Beach and Florida Cannabis Laws: Purchase Limits, Public Use and Driving

The store may hand over no more than a 70-day supply in any 70 days, and smokable flower is capped at 2.5 ounces per 35 days unless the OMMU approves more. Keep products in the original packaging. Oceanfront Park, the Boynton Inlet and city parks are public places, where use is a first-degree misdemeanor; so is use in a car. Florida law lets property owners restrict smoking and vaping, so check your condo or community rules. Impaired driving is DUI. Read our Florida marijuana laws guide for more.

Cannabis Taxes in Boynton Beach

Florida exempts medical marijuana and delivery devices from sales tax, so nothing is added at checkout. Companies must list their prices online, including the cost of a 30, 50 and 70-day supply. See 2026 cannabis prices by state.
