Dispensaries in Salem

Salem has 44 dispensaries licensed by the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC), and nearly every one also serves medical patients. Oregon's capital follows state rules: buyers must be 21 with a valid photo ID from any state, sales run between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., and 42 Salem stores hold delivery endorsements. Most of the city's shops line Commercial Street, Lancaster Drive and Center Street.

Salem's Licensed Dispensaries and Who Runs Them

Salem has 44 licensed cannabis retailers. 43 of them are registered with the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program (OMMP), and 42 can deliver. Truth Dispensary has four Salem stores, and OG Collective, Nectar, Green Cross Cannabis Emporium, WeedAgain and Preserve Oregon each operate more than one. Keizer, which borders Salem to the north, is its own city with its own page.

Which Salem Dispensary to Pick

We weighed verified hours, OLCC license data and public Google reviews, last checked in October 2026:

Getting to a Salem Dispensary: I-5 Exits, Cherriots and Commuter Routes

Salem sprawls, and most shoppers drive. For the Commercial Street SE stores, take the Kuebler Boulevard exit in south Salem. The Lancaster Drive, Center Street and Market Street shops sit close to the Market Street and Santiam Highway exits on the east side. Without a car, Cherriots buses run along Commercial, Lancaster and Center.

Commuters usually pass a store on the way home: Edgewater Street NW for West Salem and the Highway 22 corridor toward Dallas, Lancaster Drive for east Salem and Silverton traffic, and Commercial Street for anyone heading south toward Albany. Driving after using cannabis is a DUII in Oregon. There is no THC blood limit; officers assess impairment directly, so keep purchases sealed and out of reach until you are home.

Capitol Grounds, Willamette University and the State Fair

Because Salem is the seat of state government, much of downtown is public property. Using cannabis on the Oregon State Capitol grounds, around the state office buildings or in Riverfront Park counts as public use, a Class B violation that carries a presumptive $265 fine. The same applies on downtown sidewalks and in parking garages.

Willamette University students follow the usual age rule: 21 for recreational purchases, or 18 to 20 with an OMMP card at a medical-registered store. The university does not allow cannabis on campus.

Each late summer the Oregon State Fair draws large crowds to the fairgrounds in northeast Salem, close to the Lancaster Drive and Center Street stores. Consuming at the fair or in its lots is illegal. Our guide to where you can smoke weed in Salem lists the legal options, which come down to private property where the owner agrees.

What You Pay at a Salem Dispensary

Every recreational sale includes Oregon's 17% state cannabis tax. Oregon cities may add up to 3% more, so the total can reach 20%; your receipt itemizes exactly what was collected, and the City of Salem's website is the place to confirm the local rate. Oregon has no general sales tax. OMMP cardholders pay no cannabis tax at all.

Shelf prices are low by national standards, because Oregon licensed more growers than its market needed. Commercial Street's long line of competitors keeps deals frequent. If you hate arithmetic at the register, CannaSource prices its products with tax already included.

Salem Shopping Checklist: ID, Cash, Limits, Delivery and OMMP

  • ID: Bring an unexpired government photo ID. Oregon, other states' licenses, passports and military IDs are accepted; photos of IDs are not.
  • Cash or debit: Most Salem stores take both and keep an ATM on site. Credit cards are uncommon because of federal law.
  • Daily cap: One person can buy up to 2 ounces of flower, 10 grams of concentrates, 16 ounces of edibles and 72 fluid ounces of drinks per day, plus seeds and starter plants. Oregon purchase limits →
  • Delivery: Endorsed stores deliver to homes in their approved area, not to hotels or offices. Place the order before 8 p.m.; it must arrive by 9 p.m., and the driver confirms your age.
  • OMMP: Medical patients skip the cannabis tax and can buy larger amounts. Oregon does not accept other states' medical cards for those benefits. Medical marijuana in Salem →
