About American Mary

American Mary's Wallingford store is on NE 45th Street, on the Wallingford side of I-5 a few minutes' walk from the University District and a couple of blocks east of Dick's Drive-In. It is one of three American Mary shops in Seattle — the others are in Ballard and Belltown — and it serves Wallingford, the U District and Green Lake, with Gas Works Park and Green Lake both about a mile away.

The store is open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day, holds a medical endorsement, and runs a loyalty program and online ordering shared across the three locations. Regulars describe it as a place to find top-shelf flower and pre-rolls with frequent sales, and dog owners mention staff handing out treats when they bring a pet in.

Google lists the store as LGBTQ+ friendly with a wheelchair-accessible entrance.

What Customers Say About American Mary

4.3 out of 5 from 436 Google reviews · read the reviews on Google

American Mary averages 4.3 stars from more than 400 Google reviews, and opinion has become more divided over the past year. Long-time regulars praise knowledgeable, efficient staff who give recommendations within a price range, rarely find items out of stock, and value the regular sales.

A run of 2026 reviews is critical, though: complaints include inconsistent service, returns not being honored, medical discounts not being applied correctly, and prices that some feel run higher than nearby chains. If you are a registered patient, confirm your discount at the counter before paying.

This summary is written by The Weed Street Journal from a sample of public Google reviews. It is not a paid endorsement.
