There are 23 state-licensed cannabis dispensaries in Spokane, all on the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB) retailer list. Shoppers 21 and up can buy with any valid photo ID, Idaho and other out-of-state licenses included. Stores may sell from 8 a.m. until midnight, and 11 of Spokane's shops are endorsed to serve medical patients.

Spokane is the biggest city in Eastern Washington and the last legal stop before Idaho, where cannabis is still banned outright. That gives its stores a mix of customers you don't see in Seattle: Gonzaga and Whitworth students, Fairchild airmen, and a steady stream of drivers from Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls. Below you'll find every licensed Spokane store, sorted by part of town, plus the border rules that matter most here.
Shopping in Spokane If You Live in Idaho
The Idaho line sits less than 20 miles east of downtown Spokane, and Idaho allows neither recreational nor medical cannabis. For many people in Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls and Sandpoint, Spokane and Spokane Valley are the closest places to buy legally.
An Idaho resident who is 21 or older can walk into any store on this page with an Idaho driver's license and buy the same amounts as a Washington resident. The legal trouble starts on I-90 heading east. Carrying cannabis across a state line breaks federal law, and simply having it in Idaho breaks Idaho law, regardless of where you bought it.
If you are coming over from Idaho, plan to buy and use cannabis on the Washington side, at a private home where the owner is fine with it, and wait until you are sober before driving back. Our guide for Idaho visitors goes into more detail.

Spokane Purchase Limits and the Rules Behind Them
Washington voters legalized adult-use cannabis with Initiative 502 in 2012, and the WSLCB licenses and inspects every Spokane store. Here is what one adult can buy in a single visit:
| What you're buying | Most an adult (21+) can buy |
|---|---|
| Flower | 1 oz |
| Concentrates (wax, shatter, cartridges) | 7 g |
| Solid edibles | 16 oz |
| Infused drinks and other liquids | 72 oz |
A few other rules come up constantly in Spokane:
- Riverfront Park, Manito and the Centennial Trail are off limits. Consuming cannabis where the public can see it is a civil infraction carrying a fine of up to $50 plus assessments. Downtown hotels generally ban smoking too.
- Drive with it in the trunk. An opened package in the passenger compartment is a traffic infraction, and the glove box doesn't count as safe storage. Washington's THC limit for drivers is 5 nanograms per milliliter of blood, and you can be charged below it if you are impaired.
- Fairchild Air Force Base is federal land. Cannabis is illegal on military bases and in national forests regardless of state law.
- No home grow. Recreational users still can't grow cannabis at home in Washington; a 2026 bill to allow it stalled.
Our Washington marijuana laws guide covers possession, penalties and medical rules in full.
Before You Go: ID, Cash and Opening Hours in Spokane
Bring an unexpired government photo ID: a driver's license or state ID from any state, a passport or a military ID. Spokane stores check it at the door or the register, and many run it through a scanner. Expect to pay with cash or a debit card; most stores have an ATM, and credit cards almost never work because card networks bar cannabis sales.
State rules let stores open as early as 8 a.m. and stay open until midnight, and a lot of Spokane shops use most of that window. Hours still vary from store to store, so check the listing first. Nothing can be delivered: Washington has no legal cannabis delivery, so every purchase happens in person. For first-timers, we have guides on finding the best dispensary and what to buy at a dispensary.
Spokane Prices and the 37% Excise Tax
Every adult-use sale in Washington carries a 37% excise tax, among the highest cannabis taxes in the country, with state and local sales tax on top. Spokane stores usually bake the excise into the sticker price and add sales tax at the till, so the "out the door" total is the number to compare. Prices here are close to the state average, and the number of stores competing along Division keeps daily specials common.
To spend less, watch for day-of-the-week deals, first-visit discounts, loyalty points and bigger packs of flower, which usually work out cheaper per gram than an eighth.
Medical Cannabis in Spokane
11 Spokane stores hold a Department of Health medical endorsement and carry a Medical badge in our list. Washington has no separate medical dispensary system; patients use these endorsed retail stores instead. A patient entered in the DOH database with a recognition card skips sales tax, skips the 37% excise tax on DOH-compliant products and can buy up to three times the adult-use amounts. Registered patients 18 to 20 can shop at endorsed stores as well. Washington won't honor an out-of-state medical card, which matters for Idaho patients: you shop here as a recreational customer.
Popular Strains at Spokane Dispensaries

Long-running favorites you're likely to find include OG Kush, Granddaddy Purple, White Widow, Durban Poison, Green Crack and Gelato Runtz. Spokane Dispensary FAQ
Can I buy weed in Spokane with an Idaho driver's license?
Yes. Any valid government photo ID showing you are 21 or older works, including an Idaho license. You just can't take what you buy back into Idaho.
What happens if I drive back to Coeur d'Alene with weed from Spokane?
You would be breaking Idaho law, which bans possession of any amount, and federal law, which bans carrying cannabis across state lines. Use it in Washington.
What is the closest dispensary to the Idaho border?
Stores in Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake sit closest to the state line, on the I-90 corridor east of Spokane. Both cities have their own pages linked above.
Which Spokane street has the most dispensaries?
North Division Street. Roughly six licensed stores line N Division, so it's the easiest place to compare several shops in one trip.
Are any Spokane dispensaries open until midnight?
Yes. Lucky Leaf Co., both Apex Cannabis stores and both Lidz stores stay open until midnight. Our open-late page has every store's closing time.
Is there a dispensary near Spokane International Airport?
4:20 Friendly is about 2.9 miles from GEG. Don't fly with what you buy: TSA follows federal law and refers cannabis it finds to police.
Can Gonzaga students buy weed in Spokane?
Only students who are 21 or older, or 18 to 20 and registered as medical patients at an endorsed store. Apex and Lovely Buds on N Division are the closest stores to campus.
Do Spokane dispensaries take credit cards?
Almost never. Bring cash or a debit card; most Spokane stores have an ATM on site.
Can I smoke weed in Riverfront Park?
No. Using cannabis in a park or anywhere else in public view is a civil infraction in Washington. Private property with the owner's permission is the legal option.
Can I get weed delivered in Spokane?
No. Washington doesn't allow cannabis delivery, so any delivery service in Spokane is unlicensed.
Can Fairchild Air Force Base personnel buy weed in Spokane?
Stores will sell to anyone 21 or older with ID, but cannabis is illegal on military bases and banned for service members under military rules, whatever state law says.

How we build this list: Store names, addresses and licence numbers come from the WSLCB's list of active cannabis retailers; medical endorsements come from the Department of Health; tribal stores, which are not in the state list, come from tribal and public sources. We refresh the data monthly. Featured placements are paid and clearly labelled.
