Where Slurricane Comes From

Slurricane was bred by In House Genetics, a California breeder, by crossing Do-Si-Dos with Purple Punch. Do-Si-Dos is a Girl Scout Cookies and Face Off OG descendant, and Purple Punch combines Granddaddy Purple and Larry OG, so the strain stacks several famously sweet, purple, sedating lines. The numbered selection Slurricane #7 is the cut most often mentioned, and other selections such as Slurricane IX exist.

It became popular for its candy flavor and high potency. Many dispensaries now carry it, and it has been used in later crosses, including blends with Zkittlez and Runtz lines.

Slurricane Effects: What It Feels Like

Slurricane starts with a warm head change and a pleasant mood lift, then moves quickly into the body. Muscles soften, thoughts slow down and sleepiness arrives for many people within an hour.

It works best in the evening or at bedtime. Its THC is high, so it can overwhelm newer consumers, and larger doses commonly end in couch-lock. A small amount is usually enough to unwind without falling asleep.

Slurricane Terpenes, Aroma and Flavor

The aroma is sweet grape candy with berry, vanilla and a little earthy funk. Flavor follows with grape and berry on the inhale and a creamy sweetness on the exhale.

Myrcene, limonene and caryophyllene commonly lead. They contribute the earthy-sweet softness, a hint of citrus and a touch of pepper.

  • Myrcene: earthy, musky and herbal, also found in mango and hops
  • Limonene: bright citrus, also found in lemon and orange peel
  • Beta-caryophyllene: peppery and spicy, also found in black pepper and cloves

Terpene levels vary from grower to grower and batch to batch, so check the lab label on the package. Learn more in our guide to cannabis terpenes.

Side Effects and How to Use Slurricane

Dry mouth and dry eyes are common. Because the strain is strong and sedating, dizziness and heavy drowsiness can occur, and anxiety is possible for people unused to high THC. Do not drive or operate machinery afterward.

How strong Slurricane feels depends on the batch, your tolerance and how you consume it. Start low, go slow, and read our guide to dosing cannabis.

Do People Use Slurricane for Medical Reasons?

Users often say they reach for Slurricane for sleeplessness, stress, body aches and low appetite. These are user reports, not medical claims, and a doctor should guide any medical use.

Growing Slurricane

  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Flowering: 8–9 weeks
  • Yield: Moderate
  • Height: Short to medium
  • Environment: Indoor

Slurricane produces dense, sticky flowers on a fairly compact plant, so airflow and humidity control are important to avoid mold. It usually finishes in about eight to nine weeks. Outdoors in the wet Pacific Northwest autumn, dense buds are a mold risk, so it is better suited to indoor or greenhouse growing.

Home-grow rules depend on the state: adults can grow at home in states such as California (six plants per residence), Michigan (12 per residence) and Oregon (four per household), while Washington and Illinois allow home growing only for registered medical patients. Check your state in our cannabis laws by state guide before you plant anything.
