Ocala has 15 dispensaries licensed by the Florida Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU). Florida allows medical sales only, so every store here asks for an active Florida registry ID card from a patient or registered caregiver; nobody can walk in and buy with just a driver's license, and cards from other states are not honored. Its best-known store, Goldflower Cannabis on SW 19th Avenue Road, has about 2,230 Google reviews, more than any single store in Orlando or Tampa.
Ocala serves a wide area. Marion County has 25 licensed stores, 15 in Ocala and 7 in Summerfield, while neighboring Sumter County, home to much of The Villages, has none on our list. That makes the southwest Ocala stores on State Road 200 a natural stop for patients coming up from the south, and the SW College Road strip the busiest part of town, with five stores within a couple of miles.

Ocala and Florida Cannabis Laws: Purchase Limits, Public Use and Driving
Florida caps purchases at a 70-day supply in any 70 days, and smokable flower at 2.5 ounces per 35 days unless the OMMU approves an exception. Possession is limited to a 70-day supply, or 4 ounces of flower, kept in original packaging. Use is not protected in public places, in vehicles or on boats, which rules out the springs and the Ocala National Forest; the forest is also federal land. Impaired driving is DUI. Home growing is illegal. Our Florida marijuana laws guide explains the penalties.
