Pensacola has 19 dispensaries licensed by the Florida Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU). Like every store in Florida, they sell only to patients and caregivers with an active Florida registry ID card; there is no recreational market, and an Alabama, Navy or other out-of-state ID will not get you through the door as a buyer. One local quirk: Pensacola runs on Central time, an hour behind most of Florida, so a store's 8:45 p.m. close here is 9:45 p.m. in Tallahassee or Orlando.
Pensacola is Florida's westernmost dispensary market, and it looks different from the cities to the east. Most of its stores are not downtown but strung along Nine Mile Road, Davis Highway and North 9th Avenue, the commercial roads of Escambia County's north side. Twelve companies run them, and Ayr Cannabis Dispensary has the most, with three.

Visiting a Dispensary in Pensacola: Card, ID, Payment and Hours
Carry your registry card and a photo ID. Each sale is checked against the state registry and limited to what your physician certified. Plan on cash or debit. The statewide ban on in-store sales from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. applies here too, and treatment centers may deliver to patients overnight.
Pensacola and Florida Cannabis Laws: Purchase Limits, Public Use and Driving
Purchases top out at a 70-day supply every 70 days, with flower held to 2.5 ounces per 35 days unless the OMMU approves more; possession is capped at a 70-day supply or 4 ounces of flower in original packaging. Patients may not use marijuana in public, in a vehicle or on a boat. Three local points matter most:
- Navy property: Naval Air Station Pensacola is federal, and the Florida card protects no one there.
- The beaches: Parts of Pensacola Beach and Perdido Key fall within Gulf Islands National Seashore, run by the National Park Service, which bans marijuana even with a state card. The rest of the beach is a public place anyway.
- Alabama: The state line is minutes west. Florida's protection stops there; read our Alabama law guide.
