Biddeford has 12 dispensaries licensed or registered by the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy (OCP). Only three are adult-use stores open to anyone 21 or older with a valid photo ID; the other nine serve certified medical patients, and 9 listings carry a Medical badge. That three-store adult-use count matters on this stretch of coast, because Saco, just across the Saco River, has no adult-use store at all.
So Biddeford ends up as the adult-use stop for both sides of the river, while its medical side is unusually deep for a city of its size. A patient here can choose among nine medical listings. A visitor coming off the Maine Turnpike or up from Old Orchard Beach without a medical certification should head for Coastal Roots, Landrace Cannabis Co or Stoner & Co.

Biddeford and Maine Cannabis Laws: Purchase Limits, Public Use and Driving
Maine's limit is 2.5 ounces of cannabis, with no more than 10 grams of concentrate in that total. You may use it only in a private residence and its yard, or on private property not open to the public with the owner's permission. Beaches, parks and sidewalks are public places, and public use is a civil violation with a fine of up to $100. Do not consume in a car on a public road, even as a passenger, and do not drive impaired; that is OUI. Maine has no consumption lounges. More detail is in our Maine marijuana laws guide.
