Dispensaries in Portland

Portland, Maine has 40 dispensaries licensed by the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy (OCP). Anyone 21 or older with a valid government photo ID can buy at the city's adult-use stores, and Maine has no residency rule, so a visitor off a cruise ship or a weekend drive from Boston shops on the same terms as a local. 14 Portland stores also serve certified medical patients. Portland voters were early on this issue: in 2013, about two-thirds of them approved a city ordinance that legalized adult possession of small amounts, three years before the statewide vote.

Portland has more cannabis stores than any other place in Maine, and it is the one Maine city where you can comfortably shop on foot. A dozen stores sit within walking distance of the Old Port and the Congress Street spine of the peninsula.
