Caguas has 14 dispensaries licensed by the Medical Cannabis Regulatory Board (JRCM). They serve medical patients only: a Puerto Rico patient ID card, or a verifiable card from a U.S. state or territory for stays of up to 30 days, plus photo ID. Caguas has more licensed stores than any municipio outside the San Juan metro area, and it sits on PR-52, the toll highway that links San Juan with Ponce.

Visiting a Dispensary in Caguas: Card, ID, Payment and Hours
Show your Board patient ID card and a photo ID at the door, or your home card if you are a visiting patient. Out-of-state cards are honored for up to 30 days only if Puerto Rico can verify them in the issuing state's database, so check before you travel. No one under 21 may enter. We have no verified hours for Caguas stores; call ahead and bring cash in case cards are not accepted.
Caguas and Puerto Rico Cannabis Laws: Purchase Limits, Public Use and Driving
A dispensary cannot sell more than one month's supply for a patient, and the Board sets the daily and possession limits. Use is limited to private homes and private places where the owner agrees, never in the plaza, in a park or at an event. Smoking cannabis is prohibited under Act 42; vaporizing is allowed. Driving under the effects of marijuana or medical cannabis is illegal, which matters on the PR-52 commute. Home cultivation is not allowed, and possession without medical authorization is a felony.
