Everett has 13 cannabis shops licensed by the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB), most of them along Evergreen Way and Highway 99. If you are 21 or older and have a valid government photo ID from any state, you can buy. Washington stores may sell from 8 a.m. to midnight, and 10 Everett shops are endorsed for medical patients.

Everett is a working city: Boeing's widebody plant, Naval Station Everett and a long commercial strip running south toward Mill Creek. Its cannabis stores reflect that, with most of them on car-friendly arterials rather than in a walkable downtown. This guide shows where they are, which ones locals rate highest, and the rules that matter for Paine Field flyers, Whidbey ferry riders and anyone with a federal job.

Paine Field, the Mukilteo Ferry and Federal Jobs
Flying from Paine Field (PAE). PAE in south Everett has commercial flights now, and its security checkpoint is run by TSA, which follows federal law and hands cannabis over to police. Flying it to another state also means crossing a state line, which is a federal crime. Finish or leave your purchase before you head to the terminal. Our guide to dispensaries near Paine Field lists the closest stores.
Riding to Whidbey Island. The Mukilteo to Clinton ferry leaves just south of Everett. Federal rules apply on the water and state law bans using cannabis in public, so check Washington State Ferries' current policy and wait until you are on private property on the island.
Working for the Navy, Boeing or a contractor. Naval Station Everett is federal property, where cannabis is illegal, and the military bars service members from using it whatever state law says. Many aerospace and federal contractor jobs also drug test. Legal at the store does not mean safe for your job, so check your employer's policy.
Know Before You Go: Everett Store Basics
- Bring ID. Any unexpired government photo ID proving you are 21 or older: driver's license or state ID from any state, passport or military ID. Many Everett stores scan it.
- Bring cash or debit. Most stores have an ATM. Card networks block cannabis purchases, so credit cards rarely work.
- Check the hours. The legal window is 8 a.m. to midnight, and Kush21, Local Roots 128th and The Kushery Cathcart stay open latest.
- Buy in person. Washington has no legal delivery.
- Know the limit. One visit can include up to 1 ounce of flower, 7 grams of concentrate, 16 ounces of edibles or 72 ounces of drinks.

Everett Prices, Taxes and Medical Savings
Recreational cannabis in Washington carries a 37% excise tax, and sales tax is added when you pay. Everett stores usually include the excise in the price you see on the shelf, so compare totals across stores. Prices are typical for the Puget Sound region, and the many shops on Evergreen Way and Highway 99 keep daily specials and first-visit deals common.
10 Everett stores are medically endorsed. Washington runs medical sales through these endorsed retail stores, not separate dispensaries. Patients in the Department of Health database who have a recognition card skip sales tax, are exempt from the excise on DOH-compliant products and can buy three times the adult-use limit. Patients aged 18 to 20 who are registered can shop at endorsed stores too. Out-of-state medical cards aren't accepted.
Everett Rules Worth Knowing
Using cannabis at Forest Park, on the Everett waterfront or anywhere else in public view is a civil infraction. Washington has no cannabis lounges, and most hotels ban smoking, so plan on a private residence where the owner allows it. On I-5 and Highway 99, keep any opened package in the trunk, since an open package in the passenger area is a traffic infraction, and remember the 5-nanogram THC blood limit for drivers. Growing your own is not legal for recreational users. Our Washington marijuana laws guide covers the rest.
