Dispensaries in Jacksonville

Jacksonville has 35 dispensaries licensed by the Florida Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU). Florida runs a medical-only program, so these stores sell to qualified patients holding an active state registry ID card and to registered caregivers, nobody else. Sailors, visitors and new arrivals cannot buy with an out-of-state card. The stores are spread over one of the largest cities by land area in the country, so where you live in Duval County decides which ones are practical.

Eighteen different treatment centers operate here, and no single brand dominates: Trulieve has five Jacksonville stores; Curaleaf, Fluent, MÜV and Sunburn have three each. For patients that means real choice on the Southside, where Baymeadows Road and Beach Boulevard hold the thickest cluster, but fewer options on the Westside and Northside.

About two-thirds of the city's stores sit south and east of the St. Johns River, between the Southside, Mandarin and the road to the beaches. Riverside and Murray Hill have a smaller group close to downtown, and a handful serve the Westside along 103rd Street and the Northside near the airport on Dunn Avenue. Store names below follow each location's mailing address.

Visiting a Dispensary in Jacksonville: Card, ID, Payment and Hours

  • Card and ID: The store verifies your registration and card in the state system before it rings anything up. Bring both the registry card and a photo ID. If you are newly approved, the OMMU's approval email is enough to fill an order.
  • Your certification sets the menu: You can buy only the routes and amounts your physician entered.
  • Payment: Cash or debit is standard; ask about card fees.
  • Hours: Florida forbids in-store dispensing from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. In Jacksonville that means 8 to 9 a.m. openings and closings around 8 to 9 p.m.
  • Delivery: Treatment centers deliver across Duval County, which helps in a city this large; each company sets its own zones.

Jacksonville and Florida Cannabis Laws: Purchase Limits, Public Use and Driving

Your limit is set by your certification: no more than a 70-day supply in any 70-day window, and smokable flower capped at 2.5 ounces per 35 days unless the OMMU signs off on more. You may keep up to a 70-day supply, or 4 ounces of flower, always in the original packaging, and police can ask to see your card.

  • Public places: Beaches, parks and Jaguars game days are all public; smoking there is a misdemeanor even for patients.
  • Navy bases: Naval Air Station Jacksonville and Naval Station Mayport are federal property, where the state program offers no cover.
  • Georgia: The state line is a short drive up I-95. Florida's protection ends there; read our Georgia marijuana law guide first.
  • Driving: Impaired driving is DUI under Florida law, and there is no medical exemption.

Cannabis Taxes in Jacksonville

You will not see sales tax on a Jacksonville dispensary receipt. Florida law exempts medical marijuana and delivery devices from sales and use tax, and we found no local cannabis tax in Duval County. Compare prices instead: each treatment center publishes the cost of 30, 50 and 70-day supplies on its website. Our cannabis prices by state page shows how Florida compares.

Medical Marijuana in Jacksonville

Getting a card takes four steps: an in-person exam with a qualified Florida physician, a certification entered in the registry, an online application with the $75 fee, and your first order. Proof of residency is a Florida driver license or ID card; service members and others who keep a home in another state should read the seasonal-resident rules in section 381.986(5)(b) before applying.
