Where Super Silver Haze Comes From
Super Silver Haze is one of the pillars of the Dutch coffeeshop era. Green House Seed Co. bred it from three lines: Skunk #1, Northern Lights and Haze. The idea was to tame the finicky, slow Haze with the faster, hardier Skunk and Northern Lights, while keeping the Haze energy.
The strain took first place at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 1997, 1998 and 1999, according to seed-bank sources. One listing says the 1997 win was in the Hydro category. Green House claims dozens of Cup wins overall, but that is a company statement and I could not verify the total.
Super Silver Haze became a mother to many strains, including Super Lemon Haze, and it also helped spread the Haze family through North America. Do not confuse it with the Super Silver Haze CBD, which is a different, CBD-rich variant, or with Silver Haze, a separate older cross.
